Oral Medications
Cipro – Used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
Malarone – Antimalarial. Used to prevent and treat malaria.
Please note that the costs for Cipro and Malarone are roughly $20 and $160 respectively. University Pharmacy, located in the University Towers on Anthony Wayne Drive, can write and fill prescriptions for both medications. You can greatly reduce your out-of-pocket cost by completing the Faculty/Staff Student Enrollment form (UNIVERSITY PHARMACY_FacStaff Enrollment Form.rtf) or the Student Enrollment Form (UNIVERSITY PHARMACY_Student Enrollment Form.rtf) to have the cost of the medications billed to your insurance carrier.
If you would like to recieve Cipro and/or Malarone from Univerisity Pharmacy. Please download and complete the appropriate form and return it to Sabrina Stennis no later than 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30. You may fax the completed form to (313) 577-9198, or e-mail the form to Sabrina at stennis@wayne.edu by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29. These deadline will allow University Pharmacy to process the billing and write and fill the prescriptions in time for you to begin the oral treatments at least one week prior to travel. Filled prescriptions will be available for pickup no later than October 7.
